How it all began?...It is a question that I‘ve been asked many times since Saffronancy born!
When I was growing up in the land of Saffron, Iran, I loved watching my grandma adding saffron to dishes. The way she treated this precious spice with respect and used her best skill to prepare saffron were the interesting parts. She called Saffron: the king of seasoning! Adding more saffron was meant that she is cooking for her beloved ones. She always had enough saffron stored in a locked cabinet as she used saffron not only for cooking but in many homemade remedies and beauty treats!
When I moved to Australia, the land of international tastes, I felt the food lovers were missing out on this jewel of spice. Saffron became my magic! The colour, the aroma, and the taste are the keys that turn my ordinary everyday dish, drink or desert into an exotic one! Saffron, wrapped in a vintage gift box, has been my love trick to make good friends in my new homeland!
